Comments:
This commemorative match safe was made from the
original dies registered and used by J. W. Evans in 1893. The theme "Bill
Stumps, His Mark" is based on the Charles Dickens Pickwick Papers, Chapter XI
published in serial form in 1837. A total of 2, 18K gold and 32, sterling safes
were produced. All safes are engraved for the 2005 Manchester, England
